A commendation by the President of the Islamic Council of Nigeria
When the President visited our team working in the forest in Irhue, he was most impressed to see Christians and Muslims working together peacefully side by side. He saw that the Trees for Peace project was not only helping to sustain the green environment but was also a powerful force for peace between men of different religions and, indeed, between all people in the world. If everyone could accept others in the way this was happening in the Trees for Peace project, there would be no more terrorism, bombing or wars. I reminded him that this was precisely the vision and the dream of our President, Bernadette Strebel, and why she set up the One Million trees for Peace project.
